Pelatihan Bahasa Inggris Menggunakan Teknik “Role Play” Untuk Para Siswa SMP Muhammadiyah Ciputat

Abstract

This program entitled Teaching English through role play technique is aimed at enhancing the students mastery in English; was applied to the learners of  Muhammadiyah Unior High School 17; located at Jl. Ir. H. Juanda No. 211, Rempoa, Ciputat Timur, the city  South Tangerang, Banten 15412. This teaching technique is used in the hoped that it can overcome the problem faced by the learners, that is to make them  have the  competence of good mastery in English, in terms of usage and use, as well. They used to have English mastery  passively. It  means  that they only have the knowledge about ‘what’ is it in English; and less have the ability of   ‘how’ English is expressed. The schedule of this four-month program can be described in details as, the first month is for the preparationn, the second-the third month is for applying drama technique in the process of teaching English, and last one month is for preparing the report.
